Awards Gorgone Scholarship

 

 

The Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre is pleased to announce Matthew Gorgone as the Encore Repertory Company’s Nick O’Neill Scholarship recipient for 2008.

Gorgone has performed in numerous productions with the Encore Repertory Company. Roles include: John Darling in Encore's first production of Peter Pan, Rolf in the Sound of Music and his favorite, Lumiere in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for which he was nominated for a Motif Magazine award (best supporting actor) in 2005.

More recently, Matthew received the honor of being a soloist with the United States Youth Ensemble on a trip to Europe he performed in Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Austria. He is also the musical director/conductor for the Encore Repertory Company Caroler Choir.

In the fall, Matthew will be attending Saint Mary's University in Minnesota majoring in Theater Arts with a minor in dance.
